Tebis Version 3.5 comes with new Tebis Automill technology:

More automation, more process control, greater accuracy, higher speed.

One year after shipment of Tebis Version 3.4, we presented the new Tebis Version 3.5 at the Euromold 2009. The objectives during the software's development: Mostly automated NC programming, improved reliability and higher speed in all CAD/CAM tasks as well as improved process safety. A version that will boost the productivity for Tebis customers.

In order for productive work to be performed, tried and tested structures that have proven themselves in practice must be in place. The new Tebis version offers even more options for storing such structures, for instance, the new job plan technology, the integrated machine library, and the improved tool library, just to name some innovations. Structured working is an important prerequisite for automated NC processes. Another one is intelligence. V3.5 has a few things to offer in this respect as well: Intelligent features, for example, that automatically fill their parameters from the geometry. Or the variable NC sets, now enabling lean libraries. Now nothing more should stand in the way of automatic NC programming. But even on a functional level, many innovations have been integrated in the new Tebis version.

The following illustrations show some examples of the many new features. We would be glad to arrange a personal consultation with you to explain the entire scope of Version 3.5 and its advantages for your individual processes.

During feature recognition, geometry properties are assigned to the corresponding machining objects (features) in automatic mode. NC programming can then be started immediately.

Using the group feature, you can define the zero point and machining sequence for features, providing for an even more consistent organization of machining.

Thanks to the rule-based tool assignment, you can manufacture a large variety of machining objects (features) using one machining template (NC set). Now automation of NC calculation has become even easier.

Use face mills to solve even non-standard machining tasks. Thanks to the new strategies, NC programs are created for them at the click of a button.

The new machine library is used by both the Simulator and the CAM modules. Standardized operation facilitates access to your machine models to be used during the NC calculation.

The new job plan integrates NC programming and checking of machining in the Simulator. Among others things, this enables the use of a complete machine model as the basis for NC programming.

The tool library supports many new tool types, including special tools with individually defined cutter contours. The separated cutting values for individual machining types also facilitate the tool administration.

Curves and surfaces can be used as 3D depth limitation during roughing, facilitating machining from several directions or in profiled blanks.

Accuracy and speed

One of the many innovations in the CAD environment is this function, with which even the smallest inner radius of curves can be adapted quickly and easily to the desired value.

The new function for clearing corner areas equidistantly from outside to inside is perfectly suited for hard materials due to the option of interactive tool orientation.

A new strategy optimizes residual stock machining. The integrated downfeed facilitates the cutting of hard materials and aids operators even for large differences between tool diameters.

Using perpendicular curves, you can define approach angles for the 5-axis machining with ball and flat cutters. Thus, in steep areas you can quickly obtain toolpaths, that avoid the part or problematic geometries with even rotation movements.
