Tebis acquires ProLeiS business from ID GmbH

10/12/2017

In September, Tebis AG's ranks abruptly swelled with roughly 30 highly qualified employees with documented industry expertise. The reason for this is the acquisition of the ProLeiS business from ID GmbH, a Tebis partner of many years.

For Tebis, this acquisition represents more than a mere formality; rather it is a matter close to our hearts: As a specialist in CAD/CAM process solutions for companies in model, die and mold manufacturing, we have provided high-quality software solutions around technical applications for over 30 years. But of course every CAD/CAM project also has to be registered and managed both commercially and organizationally.

With this in mind, Tebis and ID GmbH have already enjoyed a long cooperation with regard to their ProLeiS Manufacturing Execution System (MES).  Companies in die and mold manufacturing use this system to flexibly and effectively plan and control their organizational processes. This includes data such as employee capacities, machine resources, materials logistics and deadlines. All manufacturing data are also managed.

Enhanced portfolio, greater efficiency

With the acquisition of the ProLeiS business, we are now expanding our portfolio with these organizational process structures for planning and controlling manufacturing projects. This step means a clear efficiency benefit for our corporate customers: Starting immediately, they can access ProLeiS even more directly. Users also benefit from the fact that future development of the MES software will be closely coordinated with Tebis.

Bernhard Rindfleisch, Tebis AG Chairman of the Board, explains a further customer benefit behind this strategic step: The many ProLeiS apps now provide us with a larger toolbox for implementing the optimization potentials determined by Tebis Consulting in the customer processes. With the acquisition of ProLeiS business operations, we are more closely aligning Tebis AG with the requirements of Industry 4.0.“

Bound by tradition – but open to new developments

Even though close cooperation is planned for further development of the solution, Tebis intends to retain the proven structure for daily business. The ProLeiS business will be further directed as an independent subsidiary of Tebis under the name of Tebis ProLeiS GmbH, and the previous locations of Erndtebrück and Aachen, Germany will also remain unchanged. Tebis board member Dr. Thomas Wrede adds: "We have known the ProLeiS team for years. The employees are reliable, competent and customer-oriented. The team is also oriented to medium-sized companies and is committed to the same values as we are. We see ourselves as ideal partners to expand our growth strategy and to further intensify the internationalization of our business."
