Proleis 4.0 – World premiere at Tebis Open House, June 16 and 17, 2016
Software provider ID GmbH from Erndtebrück in North Rhine-Westphalia has completely revised its Proleis process management and control system. The company first presented Proleis version 4.0 to the public at this year's open house of its collaborative partner Tebis AG in Martinsried near Munich. Proleis can be integrated with the Tebis CAD/CAM software. The result is centralization of the manufacturing data through the networking of various systems. Visitors were able to familiarize themselves with the capabilities of the software in interactive sessions.
With Proleis 4.0, ID GmbH intends to further improve quality as well as cost-effectiveness and resource efficiency in the manufacturing industry. Proleis is a highly adaptable end-to-end organization and planning system incorporating modern software architecture. It is specifically designed for single-part production in die and mold manufacturing and in small-scale manufacturing. According to the manufacturer, the software provides users with the most up-to-date information and communications technology and prepares them for entry in Industry 4.0.
The Proleis 4.0 user interface is characterized by its modern design and is optimized for touch control. The system now supports mobile platforms such as tablets and smartphones with its derived web interface operation is simplified with easy, adjustable role and task-specific apps. The application and web-server technology makes Proleis 4.0 even better suited to the simple integration of distributed locations and external suppliers. The status of individual processes is visualized and is easily viewed – including live images via webcams, for example, from milling.
In Industry 4.0 manufacturing with Tebis and Proleis, "intelligent components" are enriched with increasingly more data over the course of the manufacturing process from order entry to the finished product. The component brings information such as milling strategies, machining times, setups and required milling tools with it from Tebis.
Proleis provides planning data like the provision of raw materials, purchased parts, machine resources, milling and assembly deadlines. All components from the virtual and real world are available on time at the machine and at the assembly workplace before manufacturing begins. The integration of Tebis and Proleis results in highly flexible and completely digitally controlled production with a transparent flow of information – all characteristics of Industry 4.0.
The world premiere of the new Proleis version 4.0 at the Tebis Open House gave visitors the opportunity to test the new Proleis functions for themselves: information terminals distributed around the facility provided an electronic management system based on Proleis Touchscreens and apps informed visitors of the locations and topics at the stands, and webcams provided live images of current activities.
