Different isoline patterns for surfaces, faces and topologies

I often have trouble determining whether the elements of a part are faces, surfaces or topologies, especially if the elements are not shown with their initial colors. So I always select the DESIGN/ELEMENT function to determine the surface type. Is there an easier way?

Yes. You can select different types of isoline patterns for different surface types in the configuration.

Here's how you do it

1.

In the configuration, open the "Settings/Display" entry.

2.

Now mark the surface types that you’d like to change the isoline patterns for. Isoline patterns can be changed for "surfaces", "faces", and "topologies".

3.

A continuous isoline pattern without interruption is set as the default for all surface types.

4.

We keep this line pattern for faces in our example. We select a dashed isoline pattern with short intervals (second type in the selection list) for surfaces and a dashed isoline pattern with larger intervals (last type in the selection list) for topologies. The display is changed in real time.
Surface types can now be distinguished regardless of their color.
