Productive processes with powerful CAM solutions
At Jönköpings modelltillverkning in Sweden, the search for important manufacturing information is a thing of the past. Everything is now stored in a central database, the Tebis Job Manager. The Job Manager not only supplies the correct NC code, it increases machine run times and data reliability. Questions about how specific problems were resolved in the past are no longer necessary.

More competitive thanks to a flexible machine operation culture
Year after year, global competitive pressures are increasing in die and mold making. In addition to improved resource utilization and automation, well-structured processes also offer significant future potential. Jens Lüdtke, the Head of Management Consulting at Tebicon GmbH, explains how flexible machine operation will help companies achieve higher productivity.

The virtual machine is an integral component
Tebis presented a new module for turning and combined turning/milling NC programming at the 2011 EMO exhibition in Hannover. The CAD-CAM REPORT trade publication spoke with Tebis Product Manager Reiner Schmid about how time savings are possible not only during actual machining but also in the associated NC programming.

CAD/CAM for greater manufacturing capacity
Series production is actually a non-issue in die and mold manufacturing, with its typical lot size of one. But operators like Frimo Sontra who use standardization, consistency and simulation in manufacturing can approach the results of industrial manufacturing – with a corresponding competitive advantage.

Reliability through simulation
The model and mold manufacturers at Erglis have relied on Tebis software for 22 years. In addition to many other features, this company in Heilbronn especially appreciates the simulation that can be seamlessly integrated in the system - a great advantage especially for reliable processing in unattended shifts.

Bright green pipes
They’re actually black, just like all the hoses and pipes under the hood of a car. What’s green is the new method developed by creative mold manufacturer Schweiger in Bavaria. This method is so bright green – in terms of raw-material efficiency and cost-effectiveness – that it will revolutionize the future of pipe connections and hollow bodies, and not just in cars. The Euromold Award represents an initial success for our concept. Economic success is sure to follow.

Flexible and reliable manufacturing
The milling centers at Hummel-Formen frequently perform the major portion of a machining before the final form is known. At a customer’s request, designers often change the data for a planned injection mold during the machining process. The result: Up to 30 percent shorter throughput times, thanks to a Tebis software solution that supports the entire process.

High-tech package
Working hard to ensure high productivity and quality with a narrow profit margin is the reality today for every service provider in the manufacturing industry. A wide range of requirements must be met. Investing in a new wire EDM machine and the corresponding software is a good way to round out a product spectrum with innovative technology.

Die manufacturing optimized with simulator
With “ideas for the car of the future,” car supplier Hella KGaA Hueck & Co. has grown to become a global enterprise employing roughly 24,000 people and with preliminary revenues of roughly EUR 3.1 billion in the 2004/05 fiscal year. Hella ranks among the 100 largest German industrial corporations, with more than 2,900 engineers and technicians working in research and development.

Quality surfaces for die manufacturing
Which came first, the chicken or the egg? This question also comes up in surface design. Does the virtual model come before reality, or the other way around? Reverse engineering enables high-quality CAD surfaces to be generated from existing surfaces with amazingly little effort. This technology is implemented not only in car body design, it’s also used in downstream processes like the manufacturing of sheet metal forming tools, where it enables simpler overbending of manually modified die surfaces to account for springback.

A rewarding investment
Die and mold manufacturing is driven by time and price pressures, which also affect internal departments. The die manufacturing department in the Dräxlmaier Group has therefore realigned its electrode manufacturing process, and has since realized productivity gains of 50 percent with the consistent interaction of Tebis software and the Zwicker MES system.

Optimized process chain in drawing die manufacturing
Car body parts ejected from the die spring back to varying degrees. This can be compensated by deliberately accounting for the calculated springback effect in the CAD die design, which is known as overbending. (Content only availeable in German)
