Trim Machining

Trim plastic and composite parts efficiently and reliably.

The Trim Machining special packages provide greater flexibility in 5-axis trimming of carbon and glass fiber-reinforced and composite components. The programming and machining steps in processes can be separated. The packages include typical Tebis functions for geometry analysis, for NC preparation of curves and surfaces, for NC programming and for simulating toolpaths. To standardize processes, organize your tools including optimized cutting data and your NC templates with tested procedures in libraries.

Key features of the Trim Machining special packages:

  • Generate, analyze and prepare curves and surfaces
  • Store trim strategies as well as approach and retract movements in the library
  • Graphically modify vectors interactively for 5-axis control and define machine commands for the trimming machine
  • Calculate 3 to 5-axis trim programs
  • Calculate milling and drilling programs for machining flanges
  • Correct trim paths based on vehicle position or machining position
  • Simulate NC programs and automatically check collisions with tool and head
  • Automatic circular interpolation
  • Automatically detect standard geometric contours and calculate as machine macros
  • Define technology tables
  • Check limit positions and optimal machine movement
  • Analysis tools for end-position checking and optimal machine movement
  • Move NC calculations to the background
  • Transparent saving of part changes and versions
  • Read in modified NC programs or programs generated by teach-in

Continuous manufacturing

Countless studies show: 40 to 50 percent of a plant’s entire throughput time is caused by unnecessary idle periods. This is often due to a flawed material flow. In 90 percent of cases, idle periods can be drastically reduced by…
