    The importance of proactively detecting and preventing collisions cannot be ignored: A collision between the machine head and the part, the tool and clamping devices or the spindle and machine table can be truly expensive. Even a movement of the tool in a different way than that intended by the CAM programmer can result in major damage.

    The good news: Even before the program is sent to the machine, collisions can be safely detected and avoided in the CAM system – and this can be largely automated and optimally adapted to the specific machining situation.
