Nearly four decades ago in Germany, Tebis founder and developer Bernhard Rindfleisch saw a need for digitized and numerical control (NC) milling systems in the form of graphical and interactive CAD/CAM systems. To realize this vision, he built the first Tebis system, which was widely embraced by the German automotive industry. When launching Tebis America in 1996, Rindfleisch chose the manufacturing and innovation hotspot Detroit for its headquarters. The company soon earned the business of the Big Three: General Motors, Ford Motor Company, and what is now Fiat Chrysler Automobiles.
