Martinsried / Berlin – May 12, 2026: At the 2026 German Innovation Awards, Tebis’s revolutionary SmartOps Technology received a “Winner” level honor in the category “Excellence in Business to Business – Information Technologies | Functional Software”. The German Innovation Award is presented annually by the German Design Council.
Torsten Fiedler, Product Management Team Lead at Tebis AG, accepted the award at the ceremony on May 12 in Berlin: “Receiving the 2026 German Innovation Award is a great honor for us and demonstrates the success of our commitment to supporting manufacturing companies through real practical innovation. Our revolutionary SmartOps Technology considerably increases the speed and safety of CAD/CAM processes and, above all, makes them more manageable and scalable — without relying on individual specialists or manual routines. These days, that offers enormous added value for companies in the die, mold, and machine manufacturing industries.”
Since its launch in November 2025, SmartOps Technology has become synonymous with fast, flexible, automated design and CAM programming. This technology transforms conventional CAD/CAM programming into a manageable end-to-end process within a single, clearly structured work environment.
The benefits for users include significantly less time and effort, standardization of processes, and a noticeable reduction in their day-to-day workload. These advantages are especially clear in the context of a skilled labor shortage, time pressure, and ever greater product variety.
The initial results in practice speak for themselves:
The revolutionary SmartOps Technology comes with Tebis 4.1 and provides wizard-based interfaces to guide users through all steps of a process, while still allowing them
to intervene when necessary. The parametric structure preserves the transparency, manageability, and adaptive flexibility of all processes at all times.
Rather than residing in individual employees’ minds, a company’s know-how is stored systematically in part class templates and structured knowledge databases. Recurring tasks and strategies can be standardized and automated without any extra IT or scripting knowledge. This approach makes knowledge scalable.
The Tebis AG team feels validated by this award, which also provides motivation for their next development steps. They are already looking towards the future:
SmartOps Technology was developed in close collaboration with project partners and has already been deployed successfully by corporate customers.
Torsten Fiedler: “Our solution has already proven successful in practice, and the demand is high. It was very gratifying to receive the German Innovation Award for this work , and to see our innovation recognized and appreciated outside the die and mold manufacturing industry as well.”
The German Innovation Award is presented by the German Design Council and recognizes innovations that create long-term added value through their originality, implementation, and effectiveness. It honors technologies, products, and solutions that combine a forward-looking approach with practical relevance. You can find more information here.
