SmartOps nominated for the German Innovation Award 2026

Tebis SmartOps automation technology has been nominated for the German Innovation Award in the
"Information Technologies | Industry Specific and Service Software" category.

Our revolutionary SmartOps technology has been nominated for the German Innovation Award 2026, in the "Information Technologies | Industry Specific and Service Software" category.

The award is presented by the German Design Council, one of the leading institutions for design and innovation culture in Germany. The award recognizes innovation that takes a holistic view of impact, relevance and future viability.

Since its launch in November 2025, SmartOps Technology has stood for automated, fast and flexible design and CAM programming. The technology is a feature of Tebis 4.1 and guides users through all process steps in a wizard-based manner while enabling targeted interventions. Thanks to the parametric structure, all processes remain transparent and adaptable at all times.

First practical results speak for themselves:

    • At least 50 % shorter training times in CAD and CAM
    • Up to 90 % less effort in manufacturing preparation (CAD and CAM)
    • About 20 % reduced throughput times from CAD data input to the finished part

Especially in die and mold manufacturing as well as production machining—under high competitive pressure and characterized by skilled labor shortage—Tebis SmartOps Technology creates noticeable relief: Less time pressure, reproducible quality and a reliable basis for further automation.

The Tebis team is delighted that SmartOps Technology has been nominated for the German Innovation Award 2026.

The company is already looking ahead:

    • The further development is aimed at an autonomous overall process including MES integration based on ProLeiS.
    • In the future, AI-supported part classification will enable the automatic assignment of suitable SmartOps strategies—as the basis for precise quotation calculation including subsequent part design, NC programming, planning and manufacturing environment.

Tebis SmartOps Technology, developed in close cooperation with project partners, has already demonstrated its effectiveness across multiple application scenarios.

Partners especially emphasize its user-friendliness and ability to maximize efficiencies in the manufacturing process.

A practical example from Siebenwurst: SmartOps can close ribs with various levels of complexity quickly and automatically.

Christian Sellerer, Head of Mechanical Manufacturing at Christian Karl Siebenwurst GmbH & Co. KG:

Tebis used SmartOps to continuously prepare and program one of our mold manufacturing slides for a milling application. I have to say: This experience makes me want more. We see great potential here and expect that SmartOps will help us simplify and improve our CAD and CAM processes. We look forward to learning even more about this new, promising, and transformative technology at our workshop with Tebis.
