The VDWF Treffpunkt Werkzeugbau featuring Dominik Klein and Christen Merkle: A well-rounded meeting

    Top performance is no coincidence.

We want to express our thanks! We welcomed two top speakers in May as part of the Treffpunkt Werkzeugbau event organized by the VDWF. There were many other co-sponsors of the event, plus a large number of guests from the die and mold manufacturing industry.

    Dominik Klein

In his enthusiastic keynote speech, world-class handball player Dominik Klein talked about achieving world-class status in sports. There’s so much more behind seemingly random strikes:

Discipline, procedures practiced for years, team spirit, intrinsic motivation, the joy of inspiring others with one's own achievements and the unconditional will to deliver top performance.

Do you recognize any parallels with the daily challenges in die and mold manufacturing? So do we!

    Christen J. Merkle

In his presentation "'What moves me," Christen J. Merkle spoke from his perspective as an entrepreneur about the current mix of global political influences, economic factors, pessimism, and more. And he called for a return to a more optimistic attitude, a sporting "Go for it!” approach.

Both speakers brought down the house with their valuable insights and inspiring ideas. Again, our heartfelt thanks!

We’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the German Association of Tool and Mold Manufacturers (VDWF e.V.) and our co-sponsors, who also contributed to the industry meeting:

AHP Merkle GmbH // Euroguss Evomecs GmbH // Form + Werkzeug // Marktspiegel Werkzeugbau eG // Moulding Expo // Röders GmbH // TECNORM GmbH // Alfred Konrad Veith GmbH & Co. KG // Zecha Hartmetall-Werkzeugfabrikation GmbH.

Fun fact: Who'd have guessed it? As luck would have it, our keynote speaker Dominik Klein was joined in the room by Frank Ettwein, another former professional handball player. Of course, Dominik Klein immediately recognized him among the spectators.

It was wonderful that the room was so full and that our many guests from the industry made the event a real highlight for everyone, with rounds of presentations, industry talks/exhibits, a company tour and a barbecue.
