Setting new standards in smart manufacturing: TQM and Tebis establish research institute
Tianjin Motor Dies Company Limited (TQM) and Tebis Germany have established the TQM–Tebis Intelligent Manufacturing Research Institute.
The institute combines the technical expertise and industrial resources of both companies and is based on three pillars: Core technologies, application expertise, and implementation.
It has set itself the goal of offering innovations and training in the field of key technologies, as well as establishing industry standards and defining the boundaries of the ecosystem.
TQM is a major Chinese manufacturing company and a leading national and international manufacturer of high-quality automotive tooling, testing equipment, and fixtures.
The company has very high standards for machining precision, efficiency, and stability, which is why Tebis is the perfect partner for it.
The two companies have been working together for more than 15 years and have built a reliable partnership. The institute's founding is the result of aligned corporate philosophies, complementary technologies, and shared goals.
Gao Xianchen, Board Director and Executive Deputy General Manager of TQM Group, stated that the institute is essential to the company's digital transformation.
Julian Odeh, Executive Director of Tebis China, noted that the establishment of the institute would further strengthen the strategic partnership.
The institute will not only contribute to expanding knowledge within TQM and train young talent in the use of Tebis software, but it also aims to promote the use of Tebis software in Tianjin, which will benefit the entire industrial ecosystem.
Zhang Haitao, Head of the Manufacturing Processes Department at TQM, spoke as a technical expert with hands-on experience. He pointed out that Tebis software is deeply integrated into TQM’s precision machining workflows and plays a key role in critical processes such as the machining of tool surfaces and the multi-axis machining of complex automotive tools.
The new institute will enable technical process experts to be trained more systematically and allow the expertise accumulated over the years to be converted into standardized, digital manufacturing templates, thereby ensuring quality and efficiency.
Xu Xiaoning, Deputy General Manager of Jingpin Machinery Co., Ltd., a long-standing service partner of TQM, emphasized that the establishment of the institute would strengthen the strategic collaboration between TQM and Tebis, from which many regional companies stand to benefit.
TQM and Tebis both expressed high expectations for the institute’s future and said they were confident that it would contribute to the expansion of smart manufacturing.
